ABANDONS

Denver, CO
Emerging from Denver’s heavy music underground, ABANDONS craft expansive post-metal soundscapes that fuse towering riffs, textured atmosphere, and a dynamic sense of emotional bombast. The result sits at the intersection of heaviness and transcendence, and has quickly earned the group acclaim for their immersive (if not visually overwhelming) live performances.
ABANDONS first captured attention in 2021 with “Live at Mutiny Information Cafe,” a raw document of their early sound and relentless live energy. 2025 saw the band team up with mixing engineer Matt Bayles (Russian Circles, Mastodon, ISIS, Pelican) and mastering engineer James Plotkin (Khanate, Sunn O)))) on their debut studio LP “Liminal Heart.” Released through the band’s own label Signal Bloom Records, the album earned praise from Decibel Magazine and received features on several playlists, including the “Hemispheres” compilation released by A Thousand Arms.
During their 2025 west coast tour supporting “Liminal Heart,” the group quickly became known for their intense live performances and extensive use of visual projections, enveloping audiences in dynamic riffs, decaying tape loops, and effect-laden walls of sound. The band has directly supported or shared festival bills with El Ten Eleven, Big Brave, Kayo Dot, Many Blessings (Ethan Lee McCarthy of Primitive Man), Divide and Dissolve, Yesness, Missouri Executive Order 44, and Hong Kong Fuck You!
